Aramis and Mike's Diner Review #3 Bobs Big Boy Burbank, CA

Bob’s Big Boy on 6/22/25

Michala Aka Mike:

Hopped off the plane at Burbank airport and have never been more hungry in my life. Luckily Aramis drove us to Bob’s Big Boy (I didn’t know where we were going until we got there). This is our first diner visit where I feel like we truly did have to wait a while, but that’s okay because we got to talk about my weekend in San Rafael and Aramis’ new obsession with Mormon Wives. Finally our name got called yay!!! Michala for 2!!!!! The vibe in Bob’s really felt like everyone was happy to be there, the couple at the table across from us struck up convo and said they didn’t even look at their menu because they always know what they’re getting. We decided to share a Turkey Club and the double breakfast. What I’ll say is the turkey club was solid but I’m not like absolutely sprinting back for that item. I only tried the pancake portion of the breakfast and they were super fluffy and I liked watching Aramis butter the pancakes individually. I don’t know if I’d sprint back for the breakfast either. What I would sprint back for though………was the chocolate milkshake…….REALLY GOOD and they give you the extra in a metal cup. Overall I liked Bob’s but I’m not addicted…..if I were to return I’d have to get their famous Chili Spaghetti to really put them to the test.

Aramis:

Fresh off the plane her grandma’s 96th birthday. Mike and I headed towards Bob’s Big Boy located in Burbank California. As we rolled in to the parking we were both instantly charmed by its yesteryear aesthetic. Mike even mentioned that she wished that the drive in was still operational. upon arriving we quickly realized we weren’t the only ones who were think about big boy that Sunday afternoon. we waited the but not for long before we got sat at a booth that was just our size. It felt like a special occasion so we ordered a milkshake as an appetizer. After a little bit of mutual deliberately I settled on the big two. It came with two pancake, two sausage link, two pieces of bacon, and two ego. I also got a coffee of course. Mike decided on a diner classic, a turkey club and fries. She decided to pair the combo with a nice cold glass of oj. we shared a little bit of both our meals. I thought the big two was tasty enough and at a pleasant 13 dollars it gave me nothing to complain about. Mikes turkey club was good but not my favorite. I didn’t love the three pieces of bread it included as well as there being fennel on the bread. I hate fennel.  the vibes in the restaurant were through the roof and it really felt like a neighborhood spot. I’d definitely return if I was in the neighborhood but don’t know if I’d go out of my way to make the journey.
